Experience

Benjamin Mutimba is an analyst at Ortus Africa Capital with over a years’ experience working in the digital credit/digital lending space. While working with Ortus Africa Capital as a credit analyst, Benjamin has garnered experience working with and building out the credit business; Raw Financial limited for Ortus Africa Capital.  He has worked with local and multinational clients in industries such as agriculture, e-commerce and fintech building a strong technical and business knowledge base with a focus on digital financial services.

Attached to his role with Raw Financial, Benjamin is responsible for coordinating the search for potential investors and the on-boarding process for these investors for the fund. This also includes building out and maintaining a due diligence data room for investors, monitoring on a day today basis the performance of the loans and portfolios, ensuring floating and seeding of trust networks with capital to lend, carrying out analysis of performance of the fund and reporting weekly on activities and operations for the Fund. Benjamin is also responsible for coordinating with Grand Recoveries Limited, the debt collection agent of the fund on matters concerning collections and recoveries.

Benjamin has also worked with the 97 fund at Ortus Africa Capital acquiring knowledge and expertise in the venture building process for early stage high growth businesses and start-ups that the fund invests in. He has been involved in capacity building and carrying out research on subjects like digital credit in Africa and Alternative investment opportunities.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Business Statistics, at Makerere University
• Cisco Networking training (UTAMU)
