Experience

Denis Bwire is an Investment Manager at Ortus Africa Capital with over 10 years experience in advisory, banking and credit. He manages the day-to-day operations in the investment business of Ortus Africa Capital across the credit and venture portfolios. This includes origination, due diligence review, structuring, allocation of capital, monitoring and reporting of investments to achieve exits and returns. In his role, he reports to the Investment Committee and the Chief Investment Officer. He is part of Ortus Africa Capital’s Management Committees.

Since joining Ortus Africa Capital in 2021, Denis has led the broad expansion of Ortus Africa Capital’s credit platform. Prior to Ortus Africa Capital, Denis was with Mogo Loans in the role of Manager. Before joining Mogo Loans, he had experience working with Entrepreneurs Financial Centre (EFC) Ltd as a Corporate credit analyst, Opportunity Bank as a loans officer and Mango Fund Inc as an Investment Analyst. He has advised on, structured and managed over $4,500,000 across 3500 investments portfolio todate.

Denis holds a Diploma in Business Studies from Makerere University Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University. He is completing the Certified Public Accountant of Uganda, CPA (U) qualification.
